At Empower Yoga, you can expect to find a class that fits your needs and experience level. Our instructors will challenge you physically, while also encouraging the use of modifications and rest when needed. Each instructor is committed to supporting you in having a really amazing class that positively affects your life.

 

Meditation is included at the conclusion of each class for a period of 5-10 minutes. Meditation is an important part of the yoga discipline, and many psychologists, such as Harvard University’s Tal Ben-Shahar, have found that it improves overall happiness and mood in the individuals who practice it.

Beginner Class
Our Beginner yoga class is geared towards students who have never taken a yoga class of any kind, or who are unfamiliar with the specific practice of Vinyasa yoga. It is an introductory class that moves slower, focuses on modifications for poses, and gives an in-depth explanation of alignment and safety during practice.

Vinyasa
Our Vinyasa class is for all students (beginners and experienced) who are familiar with the Vinyasa style of yoga and are ready to take their practice to the next level. This class will focus on a more quickly moving flow between poses. Teachers will guide students to move in conjuction with their breath. This creates a wonderful cardiovascular element. Students will be introduced to more challenging poses during this class, but they will still be offered the option to rest or modify if desired. This style of yoga combines fluid physical challenge with mental and emotional release.  Practicioners leave peaceful and balanced. Come expecting to tone, stretch, de-stress, and have fun!

Yoga/Pilates Combo Class
Our Yoga/Pilates Combo class is designed to move your body in a variety of ways, finding new sources of strength and flexibility.  Come ready to challenge yourself and have fun! This class will be a continuous flow like that of a Vinyasa yoga class, but will have Pilates elements woven throughout to generate additional physical, mental, and emotional benefits. The yoga portion of class will open up areas of tension and tightness in your body.  It will also build muscle strength.  The pilates portion of class will lengthen and tone your muscles, strengthen your core in unique ways, and create anatomically correct posture.  This class is open to all levels. 

 

Stillness Moves
Our Stillness Moves class is truly unique and inspiring. It generates physical and energetic healing, while exploring the dance within that unblocks the flow of energy. Students are guided to look for patterns of movement and stillness in their bodies. These patterns can be created as acts of authentic self-expression while opening students to new possibilities for living with freedom - aware, healthy, and fulfilled.

In each class, Suzanne will guide you through various rhythms, motions, and patterns of stillness. Tones, music, and silence will be used to enable your discovery of the creative expression you can bring forth to balance your energy.

All levels of fitness and mobility are appropriate for participation in this class.


Vinyasa Party!
Energize your weekend and shake up your practice every Saturday at 4:30pm!
In your Vinyasa Party class you will flow, dance, and dive into a world of good times with a fun and uplifting mix of Rock, Hip-Hop and Classic R&B. This class will include the Vinyasa yoga style you have already come to love with a little extra pizzaz. What a great way to start your Saturday evening! 

 Revive! Vinyasa
Invigorate and rejuvenate yourself every Sunday at Noon with our Revive! Vinyasa class. You will enjoy the Vinyasa yoga style infused with uplifting Blues, Gospel, Folk, and Kirtan music. We all love a pick-me-up, and this class will provide just that! Jumpstart your week and have fun!
